What a start of 2026! Will be honest did not expect to have a such busy month of February and January. Will write a bit more about the exhibition I had but for now, let's dive into March month.

March brings renewed energy to the art scene in Lucerne as the Mortal Walks return, guiding visitors through a dynamic lineup of exhibitions, openings, and finissages across the city. From early-month launches to a packed closing weekend, this month offers a continuous thread of artistic encounters—making it the perfect time to explore Lucerne’s galleries and creative spaces.
A Strong Start to the Month
The month begins with a collaborative opening at b74 Raum für Kunst as part of its. From March 6 to 28, the gallery presents an exhibition by Flavio Micheli, setting the tone for a month filled with contemporary art events.
Meanwhile, on Sunday, the city bids farewell to the exhibition of Andri Stadler at Galerie Vitrine during its finissage. But the gallery quickly turns the page: on March 14, it opens a new show by Giotto Doichita, ensuring that the artistic momentum continues.
Adding to the early-month excitement, the renowned Fumetto International Comix Festival runs March 7–15, bringing comic art, illustration, and experimental visual storytelling to venues throughout the city.
Mid-Month Highlights
Mid-March offers another notable opening: Gabriela W. presents Lichtprojekte_PURpur, running March 16–28. The project promises to explore the relationship between light, space, and perception, adding a luminous dimension to the month’s artistic offerings.
A Packed Closing Weekend
The end of March becomes a true finissage marathon, with March 28 standing out as the busiest day of the month.
At Mary Two, visitors can attend the closing of the Home Screen exhibition by Daria Blum. On the same day, b74 Raum für Kunst wraps up the exhibition by Flavio Micheli.
Also joining the list of closing events is Galerie Müller, which hosts the finissage of an exhibition by Michaël Lucerne—offering yet another opportunity to celebrate contemporary artistic practices in the city.
The Final Stretch: March 29
The following day continues the series of exhibition closings. Entlebucherhaus concludes its exhibition “Gezeichnet,” while Factory Luzern brings the month’s artistic marathon to an end with the closing of Peter Ulmann’s exhibition.
Exhibitions Still On View
Even beyond these scheduled events, visitors can still explore galleries according to their regular opening hours. One highlight worth noting is 171 Gallery, which continues to present an exhibition by Sara Gassmann. The show opened in February and will remain on view until mid-April, offering a chance to experience it even after the March rush settles.
With openings, festivals, and a remarkable number of finissages, March in Lucerne is a month-long celebration of art. Whether following the Mortal Walks route or wandering independently between galleries, visitors will find countless opportunities to connect with artists, spaces, and ideas shaping the city’s contemporary art scene.
